snails.fm is a one-person music tools label from Charlie: sixteen years of making music, ten of building tools for other people, joined up. First product: a voice tuner with a 16-voice MIDI harmoniser, no DRM.
snails.fm is a one-person music tools label. Charlie started making music at fourteen; a song written on a Korg Volca Keys later found five million plays. He spent a decade building tools for other people: fantasy film interfaces (Pacific Rim Uprising among them), pipelines, an art platform, and DSP written in Rust from scratch. The label joins the two. First product: a real-time voice tuner, free, with a 16-voice MIDI harmoniser unlocked by a perpetual licence. Signed offline keyfile, no DRM, no account.
I’ve been making music for sixteen years, and building tools for other people for ten. snails.fm is the two joined up, long overdue. I can’t sing well, so a voice tuner has been at the heart of my workflow, but I was never satisfied with what I sounded like on the other end. This one, I built. No DRM, yours forever, and the tuner is free.
The label is snails.fm, lowercase, always, including at the start of a sentence. The product is the voice tuner. Please don’t call it Autotune: that name is Antares’ trademark, not mine.
The PNGs are at double size, so they hold up scaled down or in print, and the mark is vector too. Two rules, both from the kit’s own README: leave at least one letter of clearspace around the lockup, and recolour it only to brand ink or to white.
